As part of our learning about seasons we have been dressing in warm clothes in the home corner, ready for winter.

To celebrate Eid we have been designing our own Mehndi hands. We noticed that Eid and Diwali are celebrated in similar ways. These are: wearing special clothes, eating special food and creating Mehndi hands.

This week we are learning all about Diwali. In the creative area we have been using clay to make diva lamps.

We came to school in our pyjamas to raise money for Children in Need.

In circle time we have been reading the book ‘The Colour Monster’ by Anna Llenas and talking about emotions. Today we played the game mirror, mirror where we copied the emotion our friends were showing with their faces and bodies.

On Wednesday we had a special day learning all about Greece! As part of our ‘day in Greece’ we took part in Greek dancing, found Greece on a map and then built our own version of Athens in the construction area.

In PE, we have been practising our listening skills whilst moving our bodies around the hall in different ways. We have been learning about all travelling in the same direction to keep ourselves safe, and to be aware of our personal surroundings and to have space. The children have all shown great perseverance and good body control. We all enjoy our PE lessons!

The children in Early Years have had an excellent start back to school, and we have welcomed new friends into Fox class. The children have settled well, are making new friends and learning together. Well done Fox class, you really have been fantastic!
